La
stampa a mano delle tele si sviluppò in Romagna nei primi decenni
dell'800. Il metodo tradizionale "Romagnolo", ha la sua
caratteristica principale nell'adozione della tecnica xilografica,
vengono utilizzati cioè stampi in legno di pero intagliati a
mano.
Per la decorazione si utilizza una
pasta colorante a base minerale, LA RUGGINE, che dona ai disegni
tratti inconfondibili, valorizzando l'intima bellezza di un'antica
arte che può essere salvata.
Der STOFFDRUCK hat sich in den suedlichen Region der Emilia Romagna Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts entwickelt. Dieses traditionelle Handwerk erhaelt seine besondere Charakteristik durch die Verwendung handgeschnitzter Stempel aus Birkenholz. Die Muster haben ihren Ursprung in bizantinischen Dekoren und sind auch landestypischen baeurlichen Motiven entnommen. Fuer den Druck wird eine Rostfarbe nach einem alten Rezept auf der Basis von Eisenoxyd verwendet, die die unverwechselbaren Eigenheiten der Muster unterstreicht. Der Rostdruck ist ein altes Kunsthandwerk mit einer seltenen Schoenheit, das vom Aussterben bedroht ist.

In the early 1800's, a technique of handprinted textile decoration developed in Romagna, the area south -east of the po river in Italy.
Typical of this tradition in the use of handcarved pear wood blocks for printing the designs. The mineral base for the coloring paste is rust, "La Ruggine", wich gives these decorations an unmistakable character. There is an intimate beauty in this ancient craft truly worth preserving.
